Who misses those days when you used to turn on the radio and the instant you heard some good Hip Hop. In today's world when you turn on the radio you either heard some desperate rapper using 98% of the time using auto tune or the lyrics didn't make sense at all. For example 50 Cent, in his song "candy shop" he sang or rapped may i say " Isn't it ironic how erotic it is to watch you em in thongs" i don't think 50 Cent knows the meaning of ironic , because that is not ironic and did not make sense . Seems like all you need today is a few clubbing beats and some auto tune and don't forget the horrible repetitive lyrics to sell music, I don’t even know if you should call that music. People wonder what happened to hip hop? How did it turn so bad ?What happened to meaningful songs that spread a positive message or at least it was real and not fake with too many studio gangsters out there . An amazing artist such as 2Pac for example performed alot of songs with positive messages , in his song " keep you're head up " he showed his respect for women and spread a positive message also relating to the lyrics he mentioned woman's right ,how women actually should be treated. You know what the problem is " Mainstream Radio" radio stations today get most of their profit from advertising . So the radio stations today only play songs that have hidden messages in them advertising. This was the start of how hip hop became about money only and real hip hop disappeared. A good oberservation would be Pitbull the so called rapper for example in his song “give me everything tonight” he actually proved that when he tried to rhyme Kodak with Kodak which is stupid, adding on top of that he was standing in New York times square near a Kodak advertisement. You see what hip hop has become its not hip hop anymore if the artist sells out to someone to promote their product in their song . the only thing that should be promoted is the artist! But im not saying that hip hop is dead like Nas said, im just saying hip hop went greedy and all for the money. But moving on 10 years later in todays society compared to back then, there still some admirable artists out there who are independent and underrated and definitely deserve more recognition than Lil Wayne or any other YMCMB crap artist. i recently went on an old school spree on youtube and found some amazing I don’t know if you could call it underground but yeah amazing hip hop artists. Such as Hopsin I respect him for rapping about things that a realistic and not fake. I also found this cool rapper from Santa Monica he is called Chuuwee , one of the songs I noticed from him that have this cool old school twist to it is “post-mortem” which was mixed by an amazing independent artist named thugpoet. I will keep you updated with more updates about real hip hop artist’s that give an old school vibe , there too many out there , but I will definitely introduce them to you in my next blog. Like Ice Cube said “For all ya niggas that don't do gangsta rap,Don't get on TV talking about gangsta rap”, peace out.
